In the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, Inkle, band or tape weaving arrived from Europe landing in America with the Germans in Pennsylvania. These long thin tapes were used to tie items together for carrying, for keeping clothing on, for decorative trim on curtains and much more.

Today’s handwoven inkle bands are key chains, eyeglass cords, bookmarks, lanyards, guitar straps, dog leashes and more. The inkle looms will be warped, all set up and ready for you to weave your very own piece.
