Tapestry Weaving Workshop
Tapestry weaving is an ancient textile art form that uses a weft-faced weaving technique, where the horizontal weft threads are packed tightly together to completely cover the vertical warp threads. This method allows weavers to create intricate patterns, imagery, and pictorial designs through the careful placement of colored yarns.
This 3-hour beginner-friendly workshop provides an introduction to the fundamentals of tapestry weaving. Participants will learn how to warp a frame loom and explore at least seven essential tapestry weaving techniques. By the end of the class, students will have the skills and confidence to begin creating their own woven tapestry pieces. No prior weaving experience is required.
